This is an introductory course in web accessibility for all members of an organization. It covers the basics of what it means for a technology to be accessible for people with disabilities.

This course dives into the current state of accessibility in WordPress. It looks at WordPress’ out-of-the-box accessibility features and examines over a dozen of its most common accessibility issues. Students will learn how to tackle WordPress theme management and accessibility plugins to include better accessibility support and understand how WordPress handles the creation of accessible content - including management of automated and manual testing of your sites.
As an open-source content management system, WordPress is a practical and popular platform to manage your organization’s digital presence or promote your organization’s goals. While it has many accessibility features , many changes can happen in design, development, and content entry that hinder rather than help with accessibility.
What You Need to Bring With You:
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and some JavaScript
- Familiarity with WordPress and PHP
- Working knowledge of digital accessibility

This is a step-by-step course covering the tools and techniques used to make PDF documents as accessible as they can be, especially for people who rely on screen readers and other assistive technologies.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Export common documents to PDF for easier remediation
- Properly tag PDF documents for accessibility
- Tag multi-language documents, logical reading order, expansion text
- Edit tags, links, URLs, images, lists, tables, bookmarks, page labels, and more
What You Need to Bring With You:
- Access to Adobe Acrobat DC Pro
- Basic HTML knowledge (helpful but not required)
- An internet connection while taking the class to view and listen to the videos

Overview of requirements and best practice to make the most of the AIR opportunity. The course is meant to do the following:
1. Orient participating NPOs, artists, musicians, or students groups to program structure, timeline, and requirements.
2. Set expectations for what your tech team is committed and not committed to do
3. Help you understand what your commitment is to your tech team
4. Provide templates for you to provide web content for your team
5. Plan for accessible site maintenance after the competition ends.

ATSTAR - for Assistive Technology Strategies Tools Accommodations and Resources - is an series of 8 learning modules for teachers, parents, and other stakeholders in the education of students with disabilities. It is designed to improve educational outcomes for students with disabilities by helping educators learn to use assistive technology in the classroom. ATSTAR prepares instructional staff at the school level to conduct assessments, collect data, and integrate assistive technology into the educational process.
